Music Recommendation: GROUPLOVE

I read about the band GROUPLOVE in an issue of TeenVogue, which, by the way, also got me into Friendly Fires; they always suggest really awesome music.

GROUPLOVE formed in 2009, and their first album is entitled "Never Trust a Happy Song", which came out this September. They hail from Los Angeles.

That out of the way, let's get onto the actual music part. Let me just say: every single song on this album is amazing and completely addicting. I have literally listened to the album 10+ times in the last week. I was watching an interview with the band and they were saying yes, they were described as an indie band, but they don't listen to the labels, and they don't need the whole album to sound the same.
That being said, some songs are very slow with sweet guitar parts, many are upbeat cheerful rock 'n roll types, and some are more electronic (still with many instruments, though.) The lyrics are catchy and beautiful. They are sung by at least three different people: the main male lead, the girl, and then another guy on one or two songs.

And, in the last song on the album, they incorporate howling. Yes, howling.

This album is definitely one of the best that I've heard in a while. It will spread happiness throughout you, absolutely.

Oh, also, the cover art? Done by a member of the band. HOW COOL IS THAT?
